Oilers Prospect Update: Condors and Samorukov in tough

The playoffs roll on for the Condors. After a suspect call leading to the game-tying goal in the dying minutes of game one:

Before quadruple overtime and the fifth-longest game in AHL history ended in disappointment. Then that same night (as the end of Game one) the Condors laid an egg in a 4-1 loss. They move onto game three in a deep hole.

In the CHL, only two remain in their championship finals. Ostap Safin and his Mooseheads get the split in Rouyn-Noranda while Samourkov and his Guelph Storm are down 2-0 to the juggernaut Ottawa 67s.

Here are all the numbers in the playoffs for all the Oil’s prospects.

This update will continue until all prospects are done (For all regular season statistics, click here)

Before the first round series against Colorado, Woodcroft said he remains “day to day” but it didn’t sound to me like he was close. I haven’t heard anything on Kailer since then.

We know its his wrist but that’s about it.

I have heard unofficial rumblings that he may need surgery which would be unfortunate at this late stage – if that is the case then make it happen ASAP.

Well they’re gonna get swept. SD is a far superior team in every area. If the Oilers are counting on any of these prospects making the big team next year they should be happy. Now that PC er uh Holland is running this DOD 2.0 any live body will do on the wings. 1st overall next year! In the draft.

It’s not something in the water, it’s something in the whistle. They should’ve won game 1 because of brutal non-call, the Condors D man was chopped down like a redwood terrible officiating. They might have won game 2 because their starter was burned out playing into the 4th OT period in game one. Way off base.

      • TruthHurts98

Ok, they got badly out shot and outplayed in game two. In the OT in game one same thing, the best chances went to San Diego. It was a horrible non call, agreed there. One of the worst I’ve ever seen. But the series is over, sweep coming up.

  • OriginalPouzar

Even though the “series is over”, I’m still going to tune in Wed and I’m going to be quite excited for it. They need to figure out a way to get sustained offence with Marody out – that’s really cause problems.

I said this too, the oilers are rushing players to the AHL now too.

      1. He plays in the Q. It is not a good league and if you arent continously scoring more each year you are doing something wrong.

      2. He is a big kid, of course he is going to physically dominate junior players. Is this why he is scoring

      3. Need to be PPG to be of interest to go to AHL early, he is not.

Oilers fans seeing his size and drooling again instead of looking for skill. Good be a decent prospect, but lets be honest, probably wont play 10 nhl games.

Who exactly are the Oilers “rushing” to the AHL?

McLeod just signed a ATO to play the rest of the season in the AHL after his team was eliminated from the OHL. He’s played 4 years of junior. He will be 20 in September. I think after 4 years of junior, you have to move up.

Bouchard got assigned to the AHL after his team was eliminated from the OHL. Just like McLeod, he’s play 4 years of junior and will be 20 this year so he has to move up.

Maximov is 20 in June. He has played 4 years of junior. He has to move up, no choice.

Ostap Safin was 20 in February. He’s no longer eligible to play junior. He has to move up.

Benson and Yamamoto both had to move up because they were too old to play junior.

So who exactly are the Oilers rushing to junior?
