After blowing an early 2-0 and eventually losing 3-2 in overtime to the Buffalo Sabres, the Edmonton Oilers will continue their five-game road trip this morning with a matchup against the Boston Bruins. While the Bruins have racked up the second-most points in the league, they are currently in a bit of a weird funk. On one hand, they have lost two in a row, to Columbus and New Jersey, and have just four wins in their last ten games. At the same time, they have five OT or SO losses in that span and have still managed to at least grab points in nine of their last ten games. They are getting healthy as well with Charlie McAvoy returning to the lineup. This morning, or afternoon depending on what time zone you’re in for the game, the Oilers will look to pick up at least a point for a third straight game. For a while, afternoon games were considered the Oilers kryptonite but, the team is actually 2-0-1 so far this early in Saturday matinee games (wins over NYR and PIT. Also an OTL to the Stars). Plenty to get to in this morning’s Pre Game Pod (pres. by YEG Burger) and I was even joined it studio by a special guest!
