The injury woes continue for the Edmonton Oilers as it appears that Mike Green will be on the shelf for the foreseeable future with a lower-body injury sustained in Wednesday’s loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.
Oilers injury woes continue. I’m told Mike Green will miss some time with lower body injury (my guess is knee). Likely injured it late in Vegas on this collision. pic.twitter.com/uh9CgLM0v7

On Wednesday night in Vegas, Mike Green had a knee-on-knee collision near the blue line and was noticeably uncomfortable. As you can see in the video above, Green’s knee was the main point of contact and it was the kind of hit that can put a guy on the shelf for a while if the damage is bad enough. At this point, we don’t know much in terms of details other than he will miss some time. I don’t know what kind of sacrifice needs to be made to turn the Oilers’ luck around, but I think we need to do something to try and put an end to this horror show of injuries the team is working through right now. I mean, I know that this happens to every team in some degree or another, but what the Oilers have been dealing with over the past month+ is starting to get ridiculous. All we can do is hope that Green’s injury, like Athanasiou’s from that same game, is not overly severe and that he’ll be back in the lineup as quickly as possible.
