Just 24 hours after being placed on waivers, Tyler Ennis cleared and he will remain with the Edmonton Oilers.
Assigned to the taxi squad, he’ll now be able to be moved up and down without the need to further be placed on waivers. He and Khaira both have eligibility for this now meaning the Oilers are given loads of more flexibility when it comes to assembling rosters on a nightly basis.
Ennis surely hasn’t been the player expected early on this season, but the Oilers bottom-six as a whole has been nothing short of a tire fire. This is still a player that the Oilers spent assets to get, and chose to keep around inking him to a new deal this offseason.
I’d expect the Oilers bottom-six to start finding their way soon. They, and the team, have a nice chance to rebound over this next seven-game set with four games against the Ottawa Senators. There’s a chance for everyone to get back on track.
