Welcome back to another edition of Throwback Thursday!
It was 15 years ago today that the Edmonton Oilers advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals.
Edmonton faced the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in game five where goals from Ethan Moreau and Raffi Torres helped advance the team. Beyond a first-period Might Ducks goal on the powerplay, Dwayne Roloson shut the door in net for Edmonton stopping 32 shots.
In the series, Michael Peca and Chris Pronger each had five points in the five games it took for Edmonton to win, while Torres’ lone point — the series-winner — came at the best possible time.
Dwayne Roloson, too, was spectacular. He posted a .934 save percentage in the series and helped the Oilers shut the door.
What do you remember most about that series?
