Welcome to “2 Guys and a Goalie,” starring Dustin Nielson, Joaquin Gage, and Matt Kassian and presented by Odds Shark, Popeye’s Louisiana Chicken, and Sports Clips Haircuts. The show focuses on stories, notes, transactions, and everything else happening all around the NHL and the world of hockey.
For episode three, the boys discussed the impacts James Neal & Mike Smith would have with the Oilers compared to the impact Milan Lucic & Cam Talbot will have in Calgary. But first, they broke down the new Brayden Point contract and how the @Tampa Bay Lightning will do for the upcoming 2019-20 season, and if the lack of adversity during last year’s season led to their surprising upset to the @Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2019 playoffs.
This led to them discussing one of the Lightning’s newest offseason acquisitions, former Oiler @Pat Maroon, his preseason fight against the @Nashville Predators’ @Austin Watson and how Maroon’s style of play might help the Lightning with a deep playoff run in 2020.
They then debate the Popeye’s Poll Question: which will be the more impactful duo next year, @James Neal/@Mike Smith or @Milan Lucic/@Cam Talbot and if the additions of Neal and Smith can lead the Oilers back to the playoffs.
They then look at the odds to win the Pacific Division (courtesy of Odds Shark) and who has the best chance of finishing in the top three.
They talk about @Eric Gryba’s retirement and Kass shares some of his favourite memories of their days for the @Ottawa Senators.
