Pavel Tyutnev is a player who, on paper, would likely be thrown in the ‘undersized Russian group’, but there is a lot to unpack in his game. Offensively, he’s always a threat on the ice. He uses a mix of skating, strength, and speed to move the puck with ease, and creates danger with his shooting and passing. Wiesblatt is a good skater who plays an up-tempo game with a bit of ferocity. He is an excellent skater who excels in the offensive zone when given the freedom to be creative. His vision allows him to create for opponents and his IQ allows him to find quiet spots in the offensive zone to set up for a scoring chance. In transition, Wiesblatt is shifty and smooth through the neutral zone and carries the puck into the offensive zone before attacking the front of the net. He likes to funnel the puck below the dots and into the net-front area. His game offensively is predicated on his speed and agility as well as his willingness to fight through traffic to find soft spots in coverage. While he isn’t a typical pest, he doesn’t shy away from mixing it up with his opponents after the whistle when the situation arises. Wiesblatt is a smart, skilled and speed-driven winger who can help on both the power play and the penalty kill. He may not project to be a top-line forward but his play suits a middle-six scoring role that contributes to both special teams. – Tony Ferrari, Dobber Prospects 

Viro and Knazko play on the same team, and it’s difficult to say with any certainty which one is going to be the better player between those two. Knazko stands out with his offensive skills more than Viro but Viro stands out with his smart and reliable all-around game. He’s a very good skater who can make an impact at both ends of the ice but lacks true standout qualities. Viro did get to make his Liiga debut lately, so the organization has him above Knazko right now but that says nothing about their long-term NHL potential. – Jokke Nevalainen, Dobber Prospects

A big, gun-slinging goal-scorer. Can finish from out high and is deadly in the slot area. Was far and away the best U18 player in Mestis history this past season. Very young for this crop so there’s loads of space to grow. – Cam Robinson, Dobber Prospects

Roby Järventie was moved from Ilves U20 junior team to Mestis (the second highest league in Finland) to play against grown-up men. He played as a first line winger, got chance to play in power play and he eventually totaled four shots with close to 15 minutes of ice time.

Watching the performance of Järventie gives usually very mixed feelings and the same goes with this performance. On the other hand, he actually has pretty good wheels, above average shot and he has really good hands making him really good at one-on-ones. His puck protection is really good thanks to his size and skill. But on the other hand, he still seems lazy and he seems to lack sharpness when he is defending, checking or is off the puck. Dylan Peterson could be one of the most physically gifted players in this draft. He already possesses a pro-ready frame and a very good shot. He does a good job of driving play and generating chances. Unfortunately, the production hasn’t gone up from last year’s pace.
