A since-deleted post on the Edmonton Oilers subreddit appears to show the team’s home arena, Rogers Place, partially flooded.
Edmonton got walloped by a massive storm Thursday evening and the video, which is now making the rounds on Twitter, shows a massive amount of water flooding the arena’s entrance off 104th Ave.
While the area is away from any ice surfaces, there does appear to be a substantial amount of damages to the building.
Edmonton was recently selected by the National Hockey League as one of its two hub cities in the league’s return to play. The Edmonton Oilers have been practising there since Monday and are scheduled to return Friday.
The Oilers are set to play the Calgary Flames at Rogers Place in two weeks and host dozens of games starting in late July.
No word yet on how serious the damages are or how it may — if at all — affect the league’s return to play.
