Weren’t able to catch the shootout tonight? OR you just want to re-live the awesomeness that is Connor McDavid? Good, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s get into it!

First shot – Rickard Rakell

Rickard Rakell had a pretty decent night I suppose…. a hat trick AND a shootout goal? Gross. Rakell did a pretty great job of changing the angle up on Al Montoya and firing one passed him on the far side. Good shootout move, I guess.

First shot – Mike Cammalleri

Shootout specialist, Mike Cammalleri has scored some pretty beautiful goals this season in the shootout. Unfortunately he tried coming in slow and at an angle just like Rakell but got poke checked by Ryan Miller. I still love you Camo Larry don’t worry.

Second shot – Ryan Getzlaf

Ryan Getzlaf is a good Canadian boy who I absolutely despise playing against. I was thrilled to see Montoya get a piece of this shot and I hope Getzlaf has a TERRIBLE sleep tonight because of it.

Second shot – Leon Draisaitl

Leon Draisailt has been an absolute machine in the last few games and I wasn’t surprised to see him undress Miller here. Again the shooter went wide but this time Drai never failed at opening up Miller’s five hole and potting the Oilers first goal of the shootout.

Third shot – Ondrej Kase

I had to google who Ondrej Kase is but it sounds like he’s a pretty good player. I mean, I hate him because he plays for the Ducks, but he’s having a pretty decent season this year. Not good enough tonight as he loses the puck coming in on Montoya who was able to get a stick on it to shut the door.

Third shot – Connor McDavid

Last but not least our hero steps up to the plate to win it for the good guys. Connor makes no mistake as he caps off the two points for the Oilers and made it look so easy. He claims the shootout isn’t his strong suit but I beg to differ. The best part of the whole thing is the lack of reaction Connor showed after winning it. Sometimes the best way to shove a win down the opponent’s throat is acting like it’s no big deal, ESPECIALLY after the chaotic third period.
At the end of the day, we never have to talk about giving up a third period lead again. All we need to know is that the Oilers are on a three game winning streak!
