Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we jumped in with a look at last night’s devastating loss and how the Oilers couldn’t come up with the effort they needed back on home ice. From the awful start to the laissez faire attitude through 40 minutes, the Oilers were incredibly flat from the jump and while it was a lot of fun to watch them battle their way back into a tie and send the game to overtime, I don’t think anyone should be satisfied with their performance after that. From there, we looked at Darnell Nurse getting a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety after he decided to headbutt Philip Danault late in last night’s game. After seeing the reply, I can’t imagine the Oilers will have Nurse available for Game 6 and that’s obviously a massive blow for a do-or-die game for Edmonton. Regardless of what happens with Nurse, the Oilers will need to be better from the crease outward if they have any hopes of bringing this series back to Rogers Place for a seventh game. It won’t be easy, but I do absolutely believe it’s doable.
