Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
Kicking off this week’s appearance, we jumped in with a look at the standings as we approach the finish line on the 2021-22 NHL season, and how the Oilers are so very close to clinching their spot at the dance. While we couldn’t quite figure out how the math works, what we did know is that a win tonight over the Dallas Stars would go a long way to getting us there. From there, we looked at the news that Marc-Andre Fleury wants to play at least one more year, and while none of us think he’d be interested in coming to Edmonton, we did think it would probably be worth a call to check in anyway. If he doesn’t call, would Ken Holland really be doing his job? Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s appearance with a discussion about Evander Kane’s future with the team and whether the Oilers would even have the money to sign him. Would the result of his grievance against the Sharks change matters at all? Would the Oilers want to buck up the cash to retain him after what is undoubtedly a fine season for him here in Edmonton?
