Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we got started with a look at last night’s loss against the Buffalo Sabres and how the Oilers actually played pretty well for the most part, but that their mistakes ended up in the back of the net. Obviously, the boys have some serious cleaning up to do in all facets of their game, but I also don’t think we’re anywhere close to pressing the panic button either. That general sloppiness prompted Lochlin to ask if I think the Oilers could have made better use of their pre-season time to knock off the rust, and while I’m not sure how much that would help, I did reiterate my thoughts that this team is way rusty right now and that’s going to take some time to get up and running at full speed. Changing gears, we spent a little bit of time talking about Jack Campbell and whether or not we should be concerned that he allowed seven goals in only two starts. Even though I don’t think we’re anywhere close to sounding the alarms, it’s clear that a lot of Oilers fans are ready to freak out and the only way we’re going to solve that is with the team turning things around.
