Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we started with a conversation about the Heritage Classic jerseys that were revealed yesterday and how the Oilers’ kit seems to have a split reaction. While none of the guys on the show were overly impressed by what the Edmonton will be wearing, I actually like the jerseys quite a bit but it’s pants and gloves that had me rolling my eyes. With the jersey talk out of the way, the conversation turned to the concession prices at Rogers Place and whether or not there will come a time when fans just stop buying food at the arena. Frankly, I never really buy anything to eat when I’m there because of how expensive everything is but it certainly seems like the third-party company that’s running the food program over there doesn’t seem to think the same way. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s segment with a look at the pre-season and how things the roster is shaping up so far even though most of the players dressed won’t actually play in the NHL anytime soon. As much as I know these tune-up games are meant for evaluation, the only thing the pre-season has me feeling is anxious to get the show going for real.
