Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we got started with a look at the timing for this extended break the Edmonton Oilers are on right now with the All-Star Game coming up this weekend and the bye week that follows. Seeing as the boys were on a roll before these 10 days off, we wondered if the timing for this break was rough or if it was perfect for everyone to take a break and rest up a little bit. But before the Oilers all jumped on planes for their respective vacations, this was a team that was starting to look much more like the one we expected them to be. They were winning games decisively, there was a commitment to playing defence, and the goaltending was sound, which almost had me wishing that they could have kept the ball rolling. All I know for sure is that I hope the Oilers’ opponents are living it up just as much as our boys are because I’ve got a feeling we’re in for some sloppy hockey once the break wraps up. Lastly, we finished off this week’s segment with a look back at the Jasper Pond Hockey Tournament that happened this past weekend at the beautiful Jasper Park Lodge. This tournament is so much fun that I’m almost begging everyone to join us next year because it will be a guaranteed great time.
