Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we jumped in with a look at Jay Woodcroft’s start behind the bench for the Oilers and how it seems like he’s really getting the most out of his players. Whether it’s more opportunities or a chance to play in different situations, Woodcroft has completely changed the way this team is playing and that includes getting some buy-in from guys he had with him down in Bakersfield. From there, we looked at the goaltending and specifically how Mikko Koskinen is on top of his game right now. Over the last 10 games or so, Koskinen has played incredibly well for the Oilers and that made Grant wonder if we would be leaning on the big Finn too much down the stretch. My concern, however, has more to do with whether or not Mike Smith can be a contributing member to this goaltending duo because we all know what happens when Kostco gets played too much. But if Smith can’t do his share of the heavy lifting, what comes next? Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s appearance with a look at the Nation Vacation to Nashville that is coming up in April and how it will be a weekend you won’t soon forget provided that you’re able to join us before the cutoff.
