It’s game day and the boys at The Locker Room wanted to bring me in for yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I will now do for every game day, I jumped on the air with the boys for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off today’s segment, we jumped in with a look ahead at Game 5 and how the Oilers have an opportunity to punch their ticket to the Western Conference Finals provided they can get one more win over the Flames. That said, it’s not going to be easy as Calgary will undoubtedly hit the ice tonight with all kinds of urgency and energy to try and pull themselves back into this series. As we saw on Tuesday night in Game 4, the Flames came up with a much better effort and it gave the Oilers everything they could handle before RNH eventually popped the game-winner with just over three minutes left to play. Needless to say, the Oilers will need a much more complete effort at the Saddledome if they’re going to close out this series in five games, and that will include making @Jacob Markstrom’s life as miserable as possible as the goaltender continues to struggle. If I’m Jay Woodcroft, I’m having the boys shooting from everywhere with bodies crashing towards the crease to try and clean up the garbage Markstrom will surely be leaving available. Either way, this is a massive opportunity for the Oilers and one they need to be ready for because locking in the fourth game is always the toughest.
