Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we jumped in with a look ahead at Game 1 of the Battle of Alberta and how this series has the potential to be a great one provided that the Oilers can maintain the level of play they say in games six and seven from their series against LA. I don’t think there’s any question that the Oilers will need to bring their best against a Flames team that has been very good all season long, and a big part of that will be staying disciplined even when it seems next to impossible. If the Oilers can do that, their power play could go a long way to giving them an edge in this series. I also talked about needing to get traffic in front of Markstrom and making his life as difficult as possible. Simply put, Calgary’s goaltender is too good to expect everything to be a pretty goal and the Oilers will need to get greasy in the crease if they’re planning on getting much past him.
