Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we got started with last night’s 6-3 win over the LA Kings in Game 5, and how it was the kind of performance we’d been expecting from the Oilers all series. Not only did the Oilers get the quick start they wanted, but they also avoided collapsing on themselves the way they had in Game 1 after building an early lead. We then talked about the unsung heroes that have started stepping up over the last couple of games as the Oilers have picked up goals from unlikely sources and that depth scoring has made a massive impact on this series. Most importantly, those clutch goals are coming at different times in the game when the boys really need something. Changing gears, we then looked at how many Oilers fans were painting their faces last night at Rogers Place after Will Ferrell set the stage with a few different looks in Games 3 and 4. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s segment with a look at the new arena deal that Calgary secured yesterday to finally build themselves a new barn after the last deal fell apart in its final stages.
