Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we got started with a look at Evander Kane’s very scary incident in last night’s game that saw the forward take a nasty cut on his arm that required surgery to repair. Obviously, we don’t know the full extent of the injury just yet but I think it’s fair to say that he’s going to be missing some pretty significant time as he recovers. From there, we dove into the rest of last night’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning and how it was the kind of game that the boys needed to have. From Jack Campbell looking fantastic in net to the way the penalty kill was finally able to shut the door, it was the kind of night the Oilers had to have to get themselves back on track. Sticking with Jack Campbell for a minute, we spent a minute talking about how important it was for him to have a game as he did after throwing himself under the bus for his performance against the Dallas Stars on Saturday. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s segment with a look at the rest of the Oilers’ road trip as this is easily one of the toughest stretches of hockey they’ll play for some time.
