Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we got started with another look at Jack Campbell after another game where he allowed four+ goals on Monday against the Coyotes but still managed to pull out the win. Seeing as Soup has had a hard time keeping his GAA down over the last couple of months, Lochlin wondered whether the Oilers will be forced to make a drastic move with the goaltender, but I have my doubts. From there, we looked at the ridiculous season Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is having and how this chase for 100 points almost came out of nowhere. It’s not that we all didn’t believe RNH was a fantastic player, but I don’t know that anyone expected the heater he’s on right now. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s segment with a look at the Pacific Division after last night’s massive win over the Vegas Golden Knights. At the risk of falling seven points back if they lost, the Oilers came up with one of their best efforts of the season and completely dominated Vegas from start to finish. It was the kind of performance that we most certainly needed at that moment, and hopefully, can be the inspiration for another massive game against Los Angeles on Thursday.
