Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while offering my takes on anything else that’s happening in the world.
Kicking off this week’s segment, we started with a recap of last night’s beatdown in Nashville and how it was the exact kind of effort and result that this team needed. From the crease outward, the Oilers got exceptional performances throughout the lineup, and the result was hanging the Predators one of the most satisfying losses you will ever see. Not only did the Oilers win by five goals, but they also looked like they were playing with some anger after dropping the first two games to a beatable team. We also spoke about Jack Campbell’s bounce-back performance that saw him stop 42 of 43 shots. After giving up four goals on 16 shots in the opener, Soup was red hot against the Predators, looked calm in his crease, and most importantly, gave the Oilers a chance to win. Speaking of being red hot, how could we not look at the ridiculous goal that Connor McDavid scored last night? Despite falling down mid-play, McDavid spun, got himself off the ice, and snapped a shot past Saros without missing a beat. How does he make this league look so easy all the time? Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s segment with a look at the Oilers’ power play and whether or not teams will be able to adjust and stop Edmonton from being so lethal.
