Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we got started with a look at the World Juniors and whether or not Canada’s easier road to the quarter-finals will help or hurt them in their pursuit of a gold medal. Personally, I would rather the boys have a few bigger tests along the way than they will this year, but making sure they’re ready to go against Russia/Sweden/USA is a challenge Team Canada will have to conquer as the tournament wears on. Getting back to the Oilers, we spoke briefly about Mike Smith being available to play for the first time in more than two months and wondered what we should expect from the veteran netminder as he works to shake off the rust. Finally, we wrapped up this week’s appearance with a look at the NHL’s decision to pull out of the Olympics despite the obvious disappointment from the players that were supposed to attend.
