The NHL Trade Deadline has come and gone, so I thought I would jump in with a quick reaction episode to recap the two moves the Oilers got done along with reading a bunch of your feedback.
Even though there weren’t many of us that expected the Oilers to be busy at the NHL Trade Deadline, you’re always hoping that the GM can make a move or two that will leave your team better off than they were before the swap meet got started. And even though it was probably unrealistic to expect that Ken Holland would get much done, he did make a pair of moves for Brett Kulak and Derick Brassard that bolstered the team’s depth without adding too much in terms of additional salary. Yet, for many Oilers fans, making only a few depth moves seems like a waste of time when you’re now in year seven of Connor McDavid’s career and the team hasn’t truly gone all-in for him yet. That said, the price of rentals and trades was pretty expensive this year so many there wasn’t much more for Holland to do? Should we be giving him the benefit of the doubt?
