I&#8217;m supposed to be on vacation this week, but the St. Louis Blues came along and ruined things before I was even able to have a coffee this morning. *spits*
Kicking off this week&#8217;s podcast, I started the show with a quick recap of what my vacation plans were supposed to be and how this morning&#8217;s news really threw a wrench into my Tuesday plans. The good news is that I&#8217;m always down to yell about the Oilers, and since it&#8217;s been forever since we&#8217;ve gotten any news, why not poke my head out of my pillow fort to talk about Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg?
One thing I know for sure is that <a href="https://publish.oilersnation.com/2024/08/13/st-louis-blues-tenure-offer-sheets-to-edmonton-oilers-dylan-holloway-philip-broberg/">these offer sheets</a> were the last thing the Oilers needed right now, which is why the Blues actually <a href="https://publish.oilersnation.com/2024/08/13/breaking-down-the-contracts-st-louis-offered-to-the-oilers-philip-broberg-dylan-holloway/">pulling the trigger</a> on them is all the more annoying. Even though St. Louis didn&#8217;t do anything wrong, it almost seemed like tendering offer sheets was a no-no on the GM&#8217;s good guy guide to the galaxy, making today&#8217;s news all the more surprising. Of course, it also didn&#8217;t help to read how other fanbases are basically dancing in the street because someone is trying to screw Edmonton over. Hate us &#8217;cause they ain&#8217;t us? Possibly.
Lastly, I wrapped up this week&#8217;s show with some betting talk, a guest RSB, and another round of voicemails that were all over the map again, especially with where we&#8217;re at in the off-season news cycle. The good news is that today&#8217;s voicemails were a wild mixed bag of topics, which is always fun from my side of the microphone.
