Welcome back to another edition of the Betway Bets of the Day!
The Bets of the Day are brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
Our first bet of the day is on Filip Forsberg to be an anytime goal scorer, with odds at +100.
Forsberg is the Nashville Predators’ all-time leader in playoff goals and points, and was relatively quiet in game one against the Vancouver Canucks, with one assist and three shots on goal. I don’t think that will last long, as Forsberg was two goals shy of his first 50-goal campaign this season.
The Canucks will be without Thatcher Demko tonight, and possibly for the series, after he suffered a knee injury late in game one. I expect the Predators to come out hot and heavy tonight, so much so that we’re going to sprinkle a half unit on Forsberg to be the first goalscorer, with odds at +600.
Our third bet of the day is on Casey Mittelstadt to score 1+ point, with odds at +110.
Mittelstadt had a great first playoff game of his career, taking five shots on goal and scoring one goal in the Avalanche’s opening game loss to the Winnipeg Jets. He and his linemates — Valeri Nichushkin and Artturi Lehkonen — on Colorado’s second line have the top matchup of any of the Avs’ lines, so Mittelstadt should have ample opportunity to get on the board.
And with those linemates flanking him, he’ll always be live for a point.
