It’s the Wednesday after the start of NHL free agency, which means a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never is ready to recap what was another busy week in Edmonton. On today’s podcast, I discussed the Oilers trading for Isaac Howard, coaching changes, a big music weekend, and delved into anything else I missed last week while I was away.
I kicked off this week’s podcast with a recap of everything I got up to last week while I was on holidays, including my trip to Seattle, the concerts I saw, the TV shows I watched, and a throwback to 2002 that’s taken over my life. Turning the podcast to the Oilers, I looked at some of the moves and news that happened over the last week and wondered how much is still to come before the 2025-26 season kicks off in a few months. Seeing as the schedule dropped this week, the countdown to the new season is on, and I wondered how close to a finished product the Oilers are as we speak in mid-July.
Finally, I wrapped up this week’s episode of BLTN with a Righteous Sack Beating about Uber annoyances before wrapping up the podcast with another round of voicemails. The voicemail was quieter again this week, but the messages were still as fun as ever. As always, the voicemails are a fun way to wrap up the show and give everyone a chance to share their thoughts. Another hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to this week’s episode, because having all of you in the mix makes the show so much better.
