Betway Bets of the Day — Can the Bruins take Game 1 from the Panthers?

Welcome back to another edition of the Betway Bets of the Day!

Our first bet of the day is taking the Boston Bruins on the money line, with odds at +135.

The Bruins come into Game 1 as heavy underdogs to the Panthers. It makes sense given how deep this Florida team is, but Boston might have a better shot in this series than some are giving credit for. Boston went 4-0 against Florida this season, outscoring them 13-8, and while the playoffs are always a different animal, they took the Panthers to seven games last year.

Sure, it saw the Bruins cough up a 3-1 series lead to lose the series, but it showed that Boston was able to — at the very least — having a fighting chance in that series. I’d expect this series to go long again and while the Panthers will likely prevail, I think Boston will be able to do some damage along the way.

Our second bet of the day is on Brad Marchand to score 1+ point, with odds at -160.

Marchand, as expected, was all over the Leafs in Round 1, scoring three goals and eight points in seven games. Last year against the Panthers in the playoffs, he racked up four goals and 10 points, and has three in their four games against them this season.

Let’s look for him to get on the scoresheet tonight.
