Welcome back to another edition of the Betway Bets of the Day!
The Bets of the Day are brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
This has undoubtedly been a tough year for the Bets of the Day, but I’m starting to realize I’ve been straying away from what made me successful last season: shot props. I think I’ve gotten far too cute this season, playing far too many point props. We cashed two shot props last night, so let’s stick with that for a bit here and see if we can dig ourselves out of this hole.
Our first bet of the day will be taking Chris Kreider to take over 2.5 shots on goal. These odds sit at -167.
Our second bet of the day will be taking Nikita Kucherov to take over 3.5 shots. These odds sit at -138.
We’re going with two bets out of tonight’s game between the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning. Kreider is averaging 2.96 shots on goal per game this year, cashing this prop in four of his last five and in 26 of 50 games on the season. Kucherov, meanwhile, is averaging a career-high 4.29 per game, cashing this prop in three of his last five and in 31 of 49 games this year.
I’m expecting a slugfest between these two teams, and both team’s top lines have strong matchups, according to Daily Faceoff’s DFS charts.

Our third bet of the day will be taking Joel Eriksson Ek to take over 3.5 shots. These odds sit at +100.
From two bets with some juice, to one at even money. While I actually like the Blackhawks as a whole in this game, Eriksson Ek’s shot prop is in a nice spot. He’s averaging 3.76 shots on goal per game this year, a career-high, hitting this prop in two of his last five games, and in 25 of 49 on the season. Daily Faceoff’s charts give the Wild’s second line, which features Eriksson Ek, a strong matchup tonight, and his additional power play time should help him cash this one for us tonight.
