The Edmonton Oilers will be looking for a third straight victory as they return home for Wednesday to face the league-leading Boston Bruins as +160 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Edmonton closed out a three-game road trip with a 4-3 overtime victory in Carolina on Sunday and has now posted wins in four of its last five contests going into Wednesday night’s matchup at Rogers Place.

Bruins at Oilers | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Oilers have continued to produce steady results despite being hampered by injuries that have sidelined Connor McDavid, James Neal, Kris Russell, and Oscar Klefbom, as well as Zach Kassian’s ongoing seven-game suspension. Leon Draisaitl has risen to the occasion in McDavid’s absence, potting five goals and seven assists over the past five games while the tandem of Mike Smith and Mikko Koskinen have combined to allow just 12 total goals during a five-game stretch in which the team was outshot on four occasions.
Home ice has also been kind to the Oilers. Edmonton has compiled a solid 6-1-1 record over its past eight home dates, while potting 4.5 goals per game during that stretch. However, the team has also struggled at times to shut down opposing shooters on home ice, surrendering 3.38 goals per game during that stretch, fueling a 5-2-1 run for the OVER at betting sites.
The Oilers will likely need to maintain their high-scoring ways against the Bruins, who ride a three-game win streak into town as -180 favourites. Boston has climbed to the top of the NHL standings during a 9-1-0 run, capped by a 3-1 victory over the New York Rangers on Sunday as -155 road chalk. And the Bruins have been rewarded at the sportsbooks for their continued strong play, climbing to +600 second favourites on the Stanley Cup odds.
Boston has played exceptional defence during its current surge, allowing just 1.30 goals per game in the team’s past 10 outings, and has seen the UNDER regularly prevail of late, going 10-3 in its past 13. However, the Bruins have been less than dominant when facing the Oilers, posting just two wins in their last 10 overall meetings.
