The Edmonton Oilers finished the 2020-21 campaign with $328,000 in cap overages, according to PuckPedia.
The overages came from performance bonuses owed to goaltender Mike Smith ($171k) and Kailer Yamamoto ($157k). Edmonton chose to split overages from last season over two years and according to PuckPedia, the Oilers will carry $666k in cap overages into next season.
While not a massive value, every penny will count. As it stands today, PuckPedia has the Oilers entering the offseason with $23,859,694 in cap space.
