We have Oilers news! It’s the summer after a losing season and we actually have some good news to talk about. Excited?
The nominees for the NHL Fan Choice Awards have just come out and an Oiler has made the cut! Cam Talbot’s twin Ghostbuster mask has been nominated for best goalie helmet paint job. Talbot debuted his new mask this past summer and it didn’t take long before catching the eyes of the rest of the NHL. He’s been known to rep the Ghostbuster themed masks, but this new mask features ghost twins In honour of his son and daughter.
It’s a thing of beauty and I really hope he wins this vote. Talbot is up against Jake Allen, Corey Crawford, and Andrei Vasilevskiy. He’s currently second in votes behind Vasilevskiy, who is some pretty tough competition cause his mask changes colours! The paint is made to darken in colder temperatures. What a time to be alive! Anton Khudobin also has a colour changing mask and HE didn’t get nominated by the fans. I feel for you, Anton.

Andrei Vasilevskiy

Jake Allen

Corey Crawford

Cam Talbot

I encourage you all to go vote for our boy Cam and make him win this contest. I don’t know what the prizes are but I’m sure they’re cool. Maybe a gift certificate? Maybe an NHL mug? Go vote!
