Players from the Edmonton Oilers have banded together with a $100,000 contribution to COVID-19 support in the community.
While the funds have yet to be allocated, Oilers captain Connor McDavid said it’s a small gesture that he hopes has an impact.
“We know COVID-19 has hit many people in our community and around the world,” said McDavid. “We felt it was important to pledge our support to the community during this difficult time.
“This is a small gesture, but we hope it can help those who are struggling.”
It’s tremendous to see the Oilers players banding together here during these incredibly difficult times. We’ll be sure to keep and eye on how the OEG allocates these funds.
