The Edmonton Oilers have made a pair of roster moves Friday morning recalling Philip Broberg from the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors.
In a corresponding move, they loaned forward Devin Shore to the Condors.
The move likely means one of, if not both of Warren Foegele and Kailer Yamamoto are healthy. The two players missed the season opener forcing the Oilers to run 11 forwards and six defencemen.
We’ll see what reports come out of practice later Friday, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see the Oilers run 11 forwards and seven defencemen against the Calgary Flames Saturday night.
Against the Canucks, the Oilers really only utilized eight of their forwards. Three players, Dylan Holloway (8:06 TOI), Devin Shore (7:04 TOI) and Brad Malone (4:46 TOI), all played minimal ice time.
