Edmonton Oilers send Ryan McLeod to AHL; activate Devin Shore

The Edmonton Oilers have made a few roster moves ahead of a Tuesday game against the Anaheim Ducks.

The club has assigned forward Ryan McLeod to the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors while activating Devin Shore from the injured reserve.

McLeod won a job with the big club this season, but the confidence from the coaching staff doesn’t appear to be as strong as late last season. While appearing in both of the Oilers first two games, he’s averaged only 5:52 TOI per game.

But that’s okay because McLeod is still a percolating prospect at just 22-years-old. Now, he’ll have a chance to head to Bakersfield where he can play top-line minutes and further develop his game.

Shore, meanwhile, comes off the IR and will look to take over that fourth-line role vacated by McLeod.

One other move happened Tuesday as Kirill Maksimov cleared waivers and his contract with the organization has since been terminated.
