Is that? Could it be? Is that… Ethan Bear’s music! Good Gord, it can’t be.
Ladies and gentlemen, get your ? emojis ready because Ethan Bear is making his NHL debut tonight against the Nashville Predators.
So far this season, Ethan Bear has performed very well for the Bakersfield Condors with 16 points in 34 total games. Had his season not been interrupted by injury, Bear’s point totals would likely be higher as he is playing a significant role with the Condors, including on the power play.
While being recalled this early may be surprising to some, Bear is a right-handed shot, something that is sorely lacking on the Oilers’ depth chart and will be a welcomed sight on an Oilers’ back end that is jammed with lefties. To go a step further, Bear could even see himself getting some power play time tonight as the Oilers continue to look for solutions with the man advantage.
According to Jason Gregor, Bear will likely slot in on the third pairing with Andrej Sekera, depending on whether or not Russell can play.
The Condors, who are trying to keep their playoff hopes alive, will certainly feel the loss of Bear’s absence as he is a major contributor to their special teams. At the time of posting, the baby Oilers find themselves eight points out of a playoff spot with 18 games left to play.
