Future Odds: The Pacific Division

If you’re a fan of placing a couple of dollars on hockey to spice things up a little bit, I figured this morning would be a good time for some way-too-early odds on how next season will play out. Today, I’m starting with the Pacific Division.
I think if you ask any Oilers fan, most of us would agree that the Oilers should be favoured to win the Pacific Division. Even though they got bumped out in the second round by the Vegas Golden Knights, I personally believe that the Oilers lost that series themselves more so than the Golden Knights being the better team. That said, I also understand that I’m extremely biased when it comes to the Oilers and how they slot in among their peers. That’s why I always find it interesting to see where bettors are putting their money long before the season starts. With that in mind, I figured I would put together a way-too-early look at the Pacific Division odds to see if there are any opportunities to put a few extra dollars in our jeans.

PRESENTED BY BETWAY

The Odds:

  • Edmonton Oilers +200
  • Vegas Golden Knights +225
  • Los Angeles Kings +400
  • Calgary Flames +700
  • Seattle Kraken +900
  • Vancouver Canucks +1400
  • San Jose Sharks +10000
  • Anaheim Ducks +25000
Granted that the odds on Betway don’t mean anything about how the season will shake out, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love seeing that the Oilers were the most favoured team to win the Pacific Division. I don’t care if it’s betting odds or a list of the most handsome NHLers, seeing the Oilers are #1 always makes me happy. Obviously, when you have the two best players on earth on the roster, winning the Pacific Division isn’t exactly some kind of black magic but that doesn’t mean I can’t still enjoy the way things are looking more than two months ahead of the season.
Either way, I’m putting a couple of dollars down on the Oilers to win the Pacific Division as the first step to manifesting another banner in the rafters that has nothing to do with Garth Brooks. Even though they say to bet with your head and never your heart, putting my money down on the Oilers to take another step forward not only makes sense logically but also in my heart. Besides, there’s something fun about winning and losing with the team you love, and Gord knows I’ve spent $10 on dumber nonsense than this. Bring on the season.
