Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
After the way the last two games have gone, how could I not feel a little sheepish about today’s game day betting article? It’s one of those things where we’re having a great time when the team is winning, but the pain gets doubled up when they lose. It’s hard to describe how frustrating it can be to not only watch the boys get shelled on home ice as they did on Saturday night against the Panthers but also to watch my money fly out of my pocket is a double whammy akin to a swift kick to the pills. That said, today is a new day, and I’m hopeful that the Oilers can get themselves back on track. Will it happen? Dare to dream.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’m using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the New York Islanders.

Player Prop:

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to register a power play point at +162. My $5 bet would return $13.12.

Easy Money:

Over 1.5 total power play goals at -118. My $5 bet would return $9.25.

Risky Business:

Leon Draisaitl to register 2+ points at +140. My $5 bet would return $14.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Connor McDavid anytime goal scorer and Edmonton Oilers moneyline at +190. My $5 bet would return $14.50.

RISKY BUSINESS PRESENTED BY BETWAY

Last Game

Even though I basically evened out on my bets for the night, sitting at Rogers Place and watching the Oilers get pumped 5-1 was as painful as it gets. Not only did they lose the game, but the Oilers didn’t really look like they were even interested in competed. Needless to say, it was a tough night at the ol’ barn.
Here’s what I bet against the Panthers:
  • Evan Bouchard over 2.5 shots at +100. ✅
  • Over 62.5 total shots on goal at -125. ✅
  • Connor McDavid to register 2+ power play points at +450.
  • Over 6.5 total goals and Connor McDavid to register 1+ point at -125.
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Islanders.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
