Risky Business: Bet on Connor McDavid to pick up 2+ points and over 1.5 power play goals

Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
I don’t think I’m talking out of school when I say that our beloved Edmonton Oilers haven’t been the sharpest we’ve ever seen since coming back from the all-star break. Over the past four or five games, the boys have basically had one period per night where they’ve stopped playing entirely, and that’s a very bad idea against the Boston Bruins.
Once again, the Boston Bruins are one of the best teams in the NHL and taking even a few shifts off against them can result in goals against, especially if those lulls turn into extended periods. Against the Coyotes, Edmonton basically stopped moving their feet for most of the second period, and that lacklustre effort nearly resulted in Arizona stealing a game they had no business being in. It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to figure out that you cannot allow that to happen against an opponent as good as Boston.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I use for my game-day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Boston Bruins.

Player Prop:

Connor McDavid to register 2+ points at +100. My $5 bet would return $10.00.

Easy Money:

Over 1.5 total power play goals at -115. My $5 bet would return $9.34.

Risky Business:

Leon Draisaitl to register 2+ goals at +600. My $5 bet would return $35.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Over 6.5 total goals and Leon Draisaitl to register 1+ point at +110. My $5 bet would return $10.50.

Last Game

I can’t even begin to express how much fun I had at the game on Monday. That tiny rink was packed with Oilers fans, and, outside of the second period, the boys gave us plenty to cheer about. What a trip, what a win, what a way to watch a game.
Here’s what I bet against the Coyotes:
  • Leon Draisaitl anytime goal scorer at +110. ✅
  • Over 59.5 total shots on goal at -116. ✅
  • Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid both to score at +300.
  • Oilers to win and over 6.5 total goals at +137. ✅
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Boston Bruins.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
