Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
Isn’t it wild to think about both Alberta teams limping their way into the Heritage Classic on four-game losing streaks? I know this story has been beaten to death a thousand times by this point, but there’s no way in hell anyone would have predicted that both clubs would get booed off the ice in their last game before the big dance. And since the Oilers and Flames both suffered 3-0 shutouts in their last time out, I’m very intrigued about what kind of game we’ll be watching a few hours from now. Given the many mistakes both sides are making early this season, are we in line for a high-scoring affair? Do we hammer the over? Does the fact that it’s the first Battle of Alberta of the year mean everyone will be jacked up and ready to bring their best? I cannot wait to find out.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’m using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Calgary Flames.

Player Prop:

Evan Bouchard to register 1+ assist at +105. My $5 bet would return $10.25.

Easy Money:

Leon Draisaitl over 2.5 shots at -150. My $5 bet would return $8.33.

Risky Business:

Leon Draisaitl and Evander Kane both to score at +400. My $5 bet would return $25.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Oilers to win and Leon Draisaitl any time goal at +180. My $5 bet would return $14.00.

RISKY BUSINESS PRESENTED BY BETWAY

Last Game

Everything sucks and I hate it here. The Oilers lost and I got killed. It’s a miserable betting combo that hurts me at a core level.
Here’s what I bet against the Rangers:
  • Leon Draisaitl over 3.5 shots at +120.
  • Over 1.5 total power play goals at -118.
  • Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman both to score at +350.
  • Oilers moneyline and over 5.5 total goals at +220.
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Flames.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
