Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
I’m not going to lie, I’m having a great time betting on the Oilers over the last couple of weeks. Obviously, it’s way more fun to bet on the Oilers when the team is winning, but it’s also the fact that the bets I’m picking are hitting as often as they are is nothing short of fantastic. It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to understand that biased betting works way better when the team you love is playing good hockey, but the bets I’m picking are also working out, and that just wasn’t happening earlier in the season. The question is obviously whether the Oilers can keep the good times rolling against another opponent that has been hard on them over the years. Dare to dream? We shall see.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’m using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Minnesota Wild.

Player Prop:

Connor McDavid to register 2+ assists at +200. My $5 bet would return $15.00.

Easy Money:

Oilers to register 32+ shots at -110. My $5 bet would return $9.54.

Risky Business:

Zach Hyman and Kirill Kaprizov both to score at +400. My $5 bet would return $25.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Oilers to win and over 5.5 total goals at +120. My $5 bet would return $11.00.

RISKY BUSINESS PRESENTED BY BETWAY

Last Game

The hilarious part about the Oilers stomping the Hurricanes in their last game was that I didn’t do all that well on my bets. Here I thought that being conservative was the move, but apparently the Hockey Gords had other plans in play.
Here’s what I bet against the Hurricanes:
  • Evan Bouchard over 2.5 total shots at +120.
  • Oilers to register 30+ shots at -120. ✅
  • Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid both to score at +400.
  • Over 6.5 total goals and Leon Draisaitl to register 1+ point at -110.
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Wild.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
