I feel lost. Even though I agreed to write a Risky Business betting article for every Oilers game day, I’m having a very hard time finding places to put my money where I don’t think it’s an automatic loss. As much as I believe in my heart of hearts that the boys will be able to turn this thing around, their play on the ice and inability to execute have me questioning whether that’s possible. I know it’s a long season and everything, but there comes a point when you have to know when to fold ’em, you know? So, when it comes to tonight’s matchup with the Rangers, I don’t know if I want to go heavy on the boys to manifest a win or if I want to play it as “safe” as possible to mitigate my losses. Honestly, it’s a horrible question that I didn’t think I would ever have to worry about with the 2023-24 Edmonton Oilers, but here we are.

Leon Draisaitl over 3.5 shots at +120. My $5 bet would return $11.00.

Over 1.5 total power play goals at -118. My $5 bet would return $9.25

Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman both to score at +350. My $5 bet would return $22.50.

Oilers moneyline and over 5.5 total goals at +220. My $5 bet would return $16.00.

I actually did fine on my bets against the Wild but the Oilers broke my heart anyway. It hurts.
