Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
If you had told me back in October that the Oilers would have a stretch where they’d win 19 of 22 games, I’m not sure that I would have believed you. It’s the kind of heater that doesn’t come around all that often, but now that’s here, we’re all hoping that the Edmonton Oilers never walk away from the table. So, when it comes to a game like tonight’s against the Seattle Kraken, you’d hope that the streak can continue against a team that the boys have had success against in the first two meetings of the season. The Oilers outscored Seattle by an 8-4 margin in those first two matchups of the season, and if we’re being honest, those two wins came at a time when the team desperately needed to get points on the board. This time around, our side is in a completely different situation, but the hope is that the result will be the same.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’m using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Seattle Kraken.

Player Prop:

Leon Draisaitl to register 1+ power play point at +140. My $5 bet would return $12.oo.

Easy Money:

Over 1.5 total first period goals at -150. My $5 bet would return $9.34.

Risky Business:

Both teams to score in the first period at +140. My $5 bet would return $17.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Oilers to win and over 5.5 total goals at +115. My $5 bet would return $10.75.

Last Game

It’s not very often when you lose 3/4 bets and still come out ahead by a dollar, but that’s exactly what happened on Tuesday night. Frankly, I think it’s hilarious that I missed all three bets I made on the Oilers game but ended up hitting my three-leg moneyline parlay. So what does it all mean? Nothing, I don’t think.
Here’s what I bet against the Leafs:
  • Evan Bouchard over 2.5 shots at -118.
  • Over 1.5 total power play goals at -116.
  • Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews both to score at +240.
  • Rangers, Avalanche, and Jets all to win on the moneyline at +427. ✅
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Kraken.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
