Game Highlights 31.0: St. Louis Blues beat Edmonton Oilers 4-3 in the shootout

The Edmonton Oilers carried a 3-1 lead in the third period but the St. Louis Blues battled back to force overtime.
During three-on-three play, it looked like the Oilers scored the overtime winner, but the call was reversed because of an offside earlier in the play. The Blues then wound up winning the game in the shootout.

THE DAY AFTER IS PRESENTED BY BETWAY


The Oilers started off the game on a power play because the Blues didn’t ice the same players for the opening faceoff as the ones they announced as their starting lineup. Zach Hyman scored with the man advantage, giving him five goals in his last three games…
The Blues tied the game at 1-1 a few minutes later. Edmonton’s defence coughed up the behind the net after an effective forecheck from the Blues and Jordan Kyrou sniped a shot from the high slot past Stuart Skinner…
In the second period, Connor McDavid gave the Oilers a 2-1 lead with a dazzling individual effort…
In the third period, the Oilers added an insurance goal when Kailer Yamamoto tipped a Tyson Barrie point shot past Jordan Binnington…
Under one minute later, Robert Thomas got the Blues back to within one goal with a snipe from the high slot…
The Oilers had a chance to pad their lead throughout the third period but Binnington made a handful of incredible saves to keep the Blues within striking distance…
With seconds left on the clock and the Oilers on the power play, the Blues managed to tie the game. Darnell Nurse wasn’t able to break the puck out and Jordan Kyrou found Vladimir Tarasenko in the slot for a one-time goal…
In overtime, it looked like Leon Draisaitl won the game for the Oilers, but the goal was called back because Connor McDavid went offside earlier in the play…
And then the Blues won the game in the shootout…
