Inside the Nation: Kassian seeking trade, Rattie being replaced, and Drake Caggiula

With the Edmonton Oilers coming off two big road wins on the weekend, Dustin Nielson has a ton to talk about on this weeks Inside the Nation.

Every Monday and Thursday at 2:30 pm, Dustin Nielson hops on a Facebook Live video on the Oilersnation page to talk all things hockey. He takes your live questions and gives some great input on current Oilers events. This week we’ve got a few good topics as there are a ton of storylines happening right now with the Oilers.

Jesse Puljujarvi has been a healthy scratch for three games in a row. Coincidentally(?), the Oilers have won all three games when Jesse has sat out. We’ve been talking about Jesse Puljujarvi all week long, so Dusty gives his take about what’s going on with the Fin. Dusty also had a good conversation about Ty Rattie, who’s currently on the Injury Reserve. Kailer Yamamoto has taken Rattie’s spot on the top line alongside Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Kailer’s been looking pretty good up there on the top line so does that mean Rattie has officially lost his spot when he returns in a couple weeks? Dustin Nielson breaks down his thoughts on the whole Rattie situation and also shares his thoughts on how Kailer Yamamoto has looked after the first 10 games of the Oilers season.

In recent Oilers news, it was said that the Edmonton Oilers have given Zack Kassian permission to find a trade. The Internet has been in a frenzy since this news arose, but Dusty chimes in to hopefully calm people down. It’s not as bad as you think it is! During some viewer questions, Dusty also gives his opinion on whether or not Alex Chiasson is a long-term answer for the Oilers, and whether or not Evan Bouchard stays with the club past his nine-game tryout. Now you’re probably wondering what the most important question of the day was? Drake Caggiula of course! Drake’s been in and out of the lineup this year, and although Drake has a lot of haters, he hasn’t looked too bad this season. Dusty gives his thoughtful takes on Drake’s play and what we can expect to see from him moving forward.
