Welcome, citizens, to yet another Thursday edition of Inside the Nation, our very own internet show where Dustin Nielson talks you through all things Edmonton Oilers. On today’s episode, Dusty looks at Mikko Koskinen getting his second start of the season, Caggiula’s promotion to the first line, and, of course, Jesse Puljujarvi being re-inserted into the lineup after spending the last four games in the press box.
To start off today’s episode of Inside the Nation, Dusty jumps right into things with a contest from our friends at Get Sauced! Did you watch the video and interact? If not you should have because you could have been a cool guy like Rodney and won yourself a gift pack from Get Sauced. Easy, right? Next up, Dusty jumps into the new line combinations and tries to figure out what Caggiula has done to earn a shot on the first line despite having arguably his worst game of the season against the Wild. Is this real accountability from the coach? From there, Nielson looks at Jesse Puljujarvi drawing back into the lineup and what we should expect from his return on the third line with Strome and Lucic.
And finally, Nielson previews tonight’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks, including what to expect from Mikko Koskinen and the revamped line combinations? Did McLellan make the right call by playing Koskinen for the second time in three games rather than going back to Cam Talbot? Will the special teams bounce back after a disappointing night against the Wild? Are the Oilers doing the right thing with the way they develop their players?
