IT’S A CAPTION CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Wanye is out of town, and there is nothing I like more than giving away his stuff while he’s gone. I dug around in the warehouse (read: bothered people), rounded up some prizes, and found a picture. Ladies and gentlemen, we’re doing a caption contest.

As much as we all love the photoshop contests, I wanted to give more people a chance to win something. Since there is nothing that I enjoy more than a ridiculous one liner, a caption contest will work nicely. There will be more photoshop contests, but we’re looking for a mind hero right now. I’m looking for someone to crack us all up.

THE PICTURE

When we threw around the idea of a Caption Contest, we decided that the picture should be something ridiculous. Something extraordinary. Something that would inspire the Nation to come up with a caption so ludicrous that we’d drop drawer and urinate on the carpet with glee. Well… this is what I found. And I’m not even really sure what the hell is going on in this picture. The idea of having both logos on your truck is blasphemous to me! Who is this man? What makes him tick? Is he the biggest Smid fan known to man? It’s the only thing that makes sense.

THE RULES

This isn’t rocket science, people. Be funny, don’t be a dick, and let’s have a good time. Prizes will be given to the 1st through 3rd place citizen members with the most props in the comments. I’ll also be picking 5 random citizens to win a GC from either Oodle Noodle or the Pint. Yes, I also said you have to be a citizen. We need to be able to get a hold of you in case you win something. I can hear you moaning already, but get over it. I’m telling you this with peace and love. Don’t complain, become a member. Thank you.

Seriously though, becoming a citizen takes 2 seconds. Trust me, you’ll need a membership in the future anyway.

I also want to thank the fine folks at Oodle Noodle, the Pint, and Print Machine for putting up the prizes, and always saying yes when I ask them. BIDS FOR KIDS

I also wanted to give a shout out to everyone at KidSport Edmonton, who will be holding their annual Bids for Kids event on October 9th to raise money to help under privileged kids play sports. As I’m sure any parents reading this will attest to, playing sports can be very expensive and KidSport Edmonton is committed to helping as many kids play sports as possible. To say the least, they’re doing important work in our city.

What are they doing? They will be auctioning off some great items (including some great stuff from our very own Brian Sutherby and Jason Strudwick) in an effort to help make sports cheaper for kids that need it. The event will be happening on October 9th at the Matrix Hotel, and tickets are still available on the Bids for Kids website.
