IT’S TIME FOR A PHOTOSHOP CONTEST

We’re getting to that time of year again where not a whole lot is going on that’s Oilers related, but we still need something to read… or at least look at. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s photoshop time!

For Oilers fans, this is the worst time of the year. There’s not much happening, the signings are few and far between, and all we really have to talk (read: scream) about are trades that may or may not happen in the future. Internet warfare is only entertaining for so long, whereas photoshop contests are ALWAYS enjoyable. 

To this point, it’s been a huge offseason for the Oilers organization. I would argue that this is the biggest offseason we’ve seen since we traded for he-who-shall-not-be-named, and I think we should honour that fact. For the first time in years, I’m actually looking forward to the fall/winter.

I contest without a theme is like the Oilers without a lottery pick – it doesn’t make any sense. Therefore, the theme of this particular photoshop contest is… The Oilers Summer Vacation. What does that mean? You tell me. Whether your photoshop looks at the changes to the roster/management, or shows Lil Nugey learning to swim – that’s up to you. I’m just looking for laugh in the summer. 

Easy enough? Cool.

As always, the rules for the contest are simple…  You create an original photoshop that fits within the theme of an Oilers Summer Vacation. That’s it – everything else is up to you.  All I ask is that you try to make it funny and as entertaining as humanly possible. I don’t want to learn anything, and I doubt anyone else does either. If you’re going to win a prize you’re going to have to earn it.  

The deadline to enter will be next Thursday (July 16th) at 11:59pm.  Anything that comes in past the deadline will be disqualified unless it is so mind meltingly good that my bowels are evacuated from laughter. To submit your entry just email it to me at baggedmilk@oilersnation.com. From there, I will take the five or six (maybe more) best entries and throw them up for a vote. The rest will be put up on our Facebook page/Instagram. 

Make sense? Good. I knew you’d get it. 

As always, we can’t have a contest without prizes so I raided Wanye’s desk, the NationGear warehouse, and bothered sponsors until they were wiling to pony up some prizes.  I want to thank Print Machine, Oodle Noodle, and the Pint for stepping up and providing the prizes. 

Now go forth, fire up your photoshop machine, and kill as much company time as you possibly can before next week’s deadline. There is no limit to how many entries you can submit, so the more you submit the better chance you’ll have at sending a winner. Good luck, Nation. May the force be with you, but mostly with me.
