The Edmonton Oilers will be trying to win three games in a row for the first time since early October when they continue a five-game road trip in Montreal on Thursday as +105 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
The team makes the trip to Montreal after posting a 6-4 win in Toronto on Tuesday that that has lifted them to 3-0-1 in four outings going into Thursday night’s matchup at the Bell Centre.

The Oilers’ resurgence couldn’t have come at a better time. The team had fallen to defeat in four of their previous 15 contests, a run that toppled them from the top of the Pacific Division standings, and briefly out of the playoff picture in the Western Conference.
The Edmonton offence mustered two or fewer goals in six of the final seven games of their recent swoon, but has tallied 4.75 goals per game during their current surge.
Connor McDavid is coming off his strongest performance in almost two months in Tuesday’s win over the Maple Leafs as a +180 wager at sports betting sites. The Oilers captain potted a goal and three assists to maintain his lead atop the NHL scoring race, two points up on Leon Draisaitl, who has recorded three goals and three assists over the past four games.
The Oilers are now just three points back of both Vegas and Arizona in the Pacific Division standings, but continue to lag on the divisional odds as a +600 wager. The team also has work to do to regain lost ground on the Stanley Cup odds, where they now trail the favourites at +2200.
While the Oilers are enjoying a resurgence, the Canadiens are looking to break out of a freefall as they return home on Thursday night as -125 home favourites. The Canadiens are coming off their third loss of the season to Detroit, blowing a third-period lead on their way to a 4-3 losing decision against the last-place Red Wings as -155 road chalk.
The Canadiens have now lost seven in a row to fall to 25th place in the overall league standings, and have posted just two wins in 13 home dates since November 12 while scoring two or fewer goals on seven occasions including each of their past four contests.
