The Edmonton Oilers will be gunning for their first win in Dallas in over three years when they visit the Stars on Monday as +160 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Edmonton has fallen to defeat in three straight visits to Dallas since November 2016, and in five of six overall meetings going into Monday night’s matchup.
The Oilers’ most recent defeat at the hands of the Stars came on November 16 when they blew a two-goal lead on their way to a 5-4 overtime loss as narrow -120 chalk. That contest featured the most goals the Oilers have scored during a shaky six-game run against Dallas.

Oilers at Stars | OddsShark Matchup Report

Edmonton scored just 2.17 goals per game during that six-game stretch, while conversely the Stars scored four or more goals on four occasions in that span, including in each of their three recent wins over the Oilers on home ice.
The Oilers’ scoring woes, though, are not limited to road meetings with Dallas. The team has struggled badly in even-strength situations in recent outings, with just eight of Edmonton’s 18 total goals over the past seven games having come in five-on-five situations.
That has fueled a four-game overall losing streak and a 2-6-1 run that has dumped the Oilers from top spot in the Pacific Division standings. But despite those struggles, and a 6-5 loss in Minnesota in their most recent contest away from Rogers Place, the Oilers have produced respectable results on the road. Edmonton has scored 3.45 goals per game while picking up the win in seven of its past 11 road dates, but has seen the OVER go a middling 5-5-1 at sports betting sites in those contests.
The Stars return home set as -180 favorites after recording a 4-1 win in Nashville on Saturday as +130 underdogs. Overall, Dallas has triumphed in four of its last five outings including three of four home dates. The team has powered its recent success with stingy play, surrendering just seven total goals over its past five outings, but has scored more than three goals just once in its last nine contests.
