Oilers Prospect Update: Thinning the herd
By Nation Dan
3 years agoThis week’s prospect update cover boy is the Swedish world juniors captain, Philip Broberg. In a light update, due to players returning to Edmonton for training camp which will start in the New Year, the tournaments of both Broberg and Holloway will be highlighted. For Dylan Holloway, the news isn’t so positive right now:
Hoping to hear more of an update than the “upper body” injury we have heard so far. Meanwhile, a few Oilers prospects are still in Europe and this is their time to shine in the absence of others. Both Maxim Beryozkin (5th round, 2020) and Matej Blumel (4th round, 2019) getting at least as many goals as games played. In net, Rodrigue continues to not get enough run support, and Konovalov draws in for a start, only to allow three goals and watch from the bench as his team battled back for the win.

Side note for those of you who are reading the update for the first time.
While it’s a prospect update, not all players are specifically prospects in the traditional sense of the word. Some are merely players of which we own the rights to, and some are older players who I think people would like to follow along with.
Updates are current as to the time of publish (if they’re playing in a game when it’s published, I won’t include that)

M.O.B.I.L.I.Z.E x OILERSNATION
“When Oilersnation reached out to me on our initial connection it reminded me of what the treaties are supposed to represent. A collective moving forward in a good way.
From an indigenous perspective this has been told to me to be like the boat and canoe floating down the same river, together but not in conflict. This design is taking my indigenous artistic practice and blending it with the ON logo. As indigenous people much of our culture is based on the concept of the circle and the balance that it represents (depicted within the ON logo). The syllabic art within the hand is inspired by Cree traditional tattoos and in syllabics is the name of this beautiful territory as my nation (Nehiyaw/Cree) would write it “Amiskwaciwâskahikan”. Syllabic form is the proper way for writing our language.
Amiskwaciwâskahikan translates to “beaver mountain house” and the territory we all live on was a common meeting place of many indigneous nations”. – Dusty
